Rust repairs Day Two 12/29/04
Day two began with fitting the replacement panels.
|
I'm using FUSOR 108B glue to attach the replacement panels instead of welding. I also treating all rusty area with Paint Over Rust (POR15) - Marine Clean, Metal Ready then POR-15 paint. Afterwards I'm using RestoGRIP body filler then finishing off with StraightLine Body Filler. I'll add photos as I go and try to show how it goes. |
1/1/05 - HAPPY NEW YEAR
|
Ready or not it's time to glue. The FUSOR gun and glue tube work as designed. The nozzle is extremely cool with an in-line mixer to ensure the two parts of the glue are mixed together when they come out. You can clean the nozzle with a brush and paint thinner. Otherwise, you would need a new nozzle every time you used the glue. | |

Here's a few shots of the rocker replacement, battery tray and right rear arch. I used allot of clamps and vise grips to make sure everything is held in place. I used pop rivets on the top of the wheel arch since none of the clamps will reach that far. I'll install the rear corner tomorrow and start filling in the gaps with the RestoGrip fiberglass body filler. |
